$3.4 million project to close Butler County Regional Airport for weeks

The Butler County Regional Airport will undergo a $3.4 million runway resurfacing project, closing for six weeks starting June 3.

The project is funded by an FAA grant, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and Butler County.

Importance of the Project

Commissioner Don Dixon emphasized the necessity of the project, noting that the runway hasn't been resurfaced in 26 years and stressing the importance of regular maintenance for safety and functionality.

Airport Usage

The airport supports nearly 55,000 flights annually, including general aviation, corporate jets, and medical helicopters.
